Red Delicious Apple Tree

Red Delicious is the most popular apple planted in the U.S. This apple tree produces a medium to large, deep red apple which exhibits juicy white flesh. This apple is used for eating fresh off the tree and commonly used in desserts. The taste is mild and sweet with very little notes of acidity and the texture is very firm and crisp. The Red Delicious needs another pollinator of a different variety planted within 50' of it in order to ensure proper pollination. Buy one of our other apple varieties to do the trick. Apple trees prefer deep, fertile, moist but well drained soil but will grow in clay and sandy soil as well. our semi-dwarf apple trees are grown on MM111 rootstock.

The Fuji apple is an apple hybrid developed by growers at Tohoku Research Station in Fujisaki, Aomori, Japan, in the late 1930s, and brought to market in 1962. It originated as a cross between two American apple varieties β€” the Red Delicious and old Virginia Ralls Genet apples. According to the US Apple Association website it is one of the fifteen most popular apple cultivars in the United States. Its name is derived from the first part of the town where it was developed: Fujisaki. Grafted on M-111 root stock.

Arkansas Black APPLE TREE, The Arkansas Black is an apple cultivar that originated in the mid-19th Century in Benton County, Arkansas.  Arkansas Black apples are generally medium-sized with a somewhat flattened shape. Generally a very dark red on the tree, occasionally with a slight green blush where hidden from the sun, the apples grow darker as they ripen, becoming a very dark red or burgundy color. With storage the skin continues to darken. Arkansas Black is one of the darkest of all apple cultivars, hence the name.Grafted on M-111 root stock.

Golden Delicious,The large, golden fruit of the yellow delicious apple tree ripens late, developing a fine, sweet flavor. Liberty is a modern apple variety, developed for disease resistance - it has very good resistance to scab, fireblight and cedar apple rust.Liberty's disease resistance comes partly from a crab apple variety called Malus floribunda which is one of its distant ancestors, whilst it gets its clean well-balanced flavor from its immediate parent Macoun and grand-parent McIntosh. It also has the bright white flesh and sweet "vinous" flavor which is a characteristic of almost all apples which are descended from McIntosh, but with perhaps a bit more tartness. Overall the flavor can be considered first class with no compromise for being disease resistant. Grafted on M111 root stock, A good partner is the Empire Apple for pollination.

Empire Apple Tree, Empire was developed in the 1940s as a cross between McIntosh and Red Delicious and soon established itself as one of the top McIntosh-style apples.

As with most McIntosh crosses, the contribution of the other parent remains in the background, and Empire has all the usual McIntosh characteristics - crimson skin, bright white glistening flesh, and "that" flavor, the dessert-wine taste which is the hallmark of the McIntosh line. However Red Delicious can also be quite scented in its own right and many argue that Empire improves on the Mac in this respect., Resistant to Cedar apple, and Fireblight grafted on to M 111 rootstock.

Is a good example of a modern apple developed specifically for disease resistance. The parentage is complex, but includes McIntosh, Golden Delicious, and Rome Beauty - as well as the ubiquitous crab apple the source of the vital gene for scab-resistance.The apples are a glossy red color, ripening in late October. They can be stored for 3-6 months in a domestic fridge. The skin is quite thick and tough. Whilst Enterprise is good for eating fresh, it is perhaps better as a cooking apple where its tart flavor can be used to advantage.Being easy to grow and with versatile uses, Enterprise has rapidly established itself as a popular garden apple variety.
